This piece’s concept was to create a spread for a magazine based on fashion. I chose punk fashion specifically, though the article was about alternative fashion in general, as punk fashion has seen a rise in popularity recently through social media. It’s also an aesthetic I have a strong grasp on and enjoy. I included pins, patches, and chains to suit the DIY nature of the style and to allude to the staple piece, a battle jacket. I used a less standard layout to fit the chaotic feel of punk culture, but kept it easy to read. I put the entire spread together in InDesign but used a combination of photography and digital painting to create the artwork.
